Streisel to teach at MediaNowSTL conference

To help student journalists make the move online, Jim Streisel, HiLite adviser and communications teacher at Carmel (IN) High School, will teach a class on website development at the MediaNowSTL summer workshop from June 25 to 27, 2012. The camp is located on the campus of Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. He will co-teach the class with Aaron Manfull, media director at Francis Howell North High School in St. Charles and this year’s Dow Jones News Fund Teacher of the Year.

Streisel will reach at the MediaNowSTL camp at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO from June 25 to 27. He will co-teach the class with Aaron Manfull and Michael Zanstra.

This is the second year Streisel has taught at the MediaNowSTL camp, an intensive workshop initiated by Manfull and his wife Kate to help students build their multimedia offerings. Last year, Streisel taught a design class with Chris Snider from Drake University.

Streisel and Manfull have worked together before, co-teaching multiple sessions at the semi-annual JEA/NSPA conventions and serving together on the JEA Digital Media Committee, which Manfull chairs.

“I’m really looking forward to teaching again at the camp,” Streisel said. “It’s very intense, but last year the kids seemed to really get a lot out of the experience. I have no doubt that this year will be no different.”
